I'm still laboring away at my Clock Day movie and for the most part it's going fine, but at some point a tapeworm is introduced. Thing is, the body is rather long, thin and small (all I got is an animated cream-colored tube) and none of the heads I drew really worked/read on screen. The best one I came up with had the tube opening like a blooming flower.* Anyway, I could use some suggestions. You know it's going to be talking, so animating that should be workable too. So no uh... non-Euclidian phantasmagorias.

Ok, those are allowed too, if they're good enough. We have about three weeks left and I've only completed two semi-elaborate animations so far, but who cares. Get nuts.

*Writing this, maybe I could combine the blooming flower thing with a second face being revealed inside that. Although it's probably too small for that.

Star-nosed mole for reference.

Holy shit, that could work, like the whatchamacallit reveal from Jurassic Park, that one dino that jizzes all over Newman. Sidenote: Newman's scream in the car, I can hear it now in my head. AaaaAaaaArghahah!! Hehehe.

Okay, so we got that as a back-up, this was helpful, but I already typed all of this so I'm gonna click on that button to the lower right anyway.

Yeah, it's not real original, but ugh... ideas are hard to come by.

Especially when you have a different idea while looking at your post only to instantly forget it somehow. Now all I can think is "I wonder if that one (anime?) thing ever accidentally bit off one of its own eyeballs?"

It's just not realistic...

I guess it could be funny if I animate it not as some sort of murderous flower but all droopy and shit, like a dancing mop.

Or I could have it explain that it's speaking telepathically because GreyClock was too lazy to animate a mouth. These jokes write themselves.

I think I remember that already being a joke somewhere. Maybe it's self-plagiarism? There's already like four of those in the movie, where I'm like "I think I stole that?"

Like one character claims he's the Loch Ness monster, as a joke. I swear that's from something.

I don't care though, I'll call it appropriation, in art-historical terms.

it's got those little ridges inside the of the mouthclawthings for the eyestalks to go in. they're precise little critters. they make parts like a shoggoth or the thing would but they have human intelligence

there's actually more with a multi-part worm face like that first one I just don't have any saved.

you could also look at timelapse photos of flowers opening and have it's mouth be some sort of flesh flower. I feel like there's a better variety of flower for what you're looking for but I can't remember any of them are called.
