Gnosticism, or, ATTN ALBINO

I read this article yesterday and now I'm curious. Clock crew, tell me more about gnosticism.

Like the article mentions, there are a number of flavors of Gnosticism. The most important bit is that they emphasize personal revelation over secondary information, so meditation is important.

The whole Demi-Urge/Yaldaboath thing has a lot of different interpretations. Some would say that it's evil, others would say that it's just not god. Personally, I don't think that it's even possible to go against God's will. We have our misadventures, but I tend to think those are ways in which God limits himself to explore his own consciousness.

If I had to pick one Gnostic tradition and stick with it, I'd have to go with the Sophians, so look up Sophian Gnosticism if you want to get a taste for the sort of lense I'm looking through.
