what length of exposure did you use to let enough light in for the stars?

The honest to God truth, Is always better than something that is misconstrude, falsified, or otherwise untrue. Even if the truth is not pleasant, it\'s much better to bring it forward the first time, than for it to be dug up later.

With my f/2 lens I could get it in 10 seconds. With the f/3.5 it was 30 sec. Both at ISO 3200. I think if I stick with the f/2 and up the time to 30 seconds I could cut the ISO down by half and get less noise. You can't go much longer than that though, because the earth's rotation will cause the stars to streak.
