Some days ago there were comments on DS Fanboy about the iPhone having the posibility to make a competition with the Nintendo DS.

Of course, the first wonders were "bah, yeah how could that happen...", however the theme wasn't left away so the guys from Joystiq made a little investigation here and there. And the more they found, the more weird it becomes.

Little later it was analyzed the games on the iPhone are priced way cheaper than Nintendo's original titles (first-party to be more specific) and also the iPhone is beggining to be priced about 200USD. That was the price my DS Lite was about a year ago.

Now let's not forget other functions the iPhone got, internet browsing, calendar, noting, making calls, of course, and let's not forget the iPod add-on. Now that's a lot.

Now here comes the funny part, some indie company made the iControlPad.

Whoah what.

The iControlPad A hardware add-on with a D-Pad, ABXY buttons and let's not forget the integrated touch screen. What is going on, could this be the new chance of Apple entering to the game industry again after the failure of PipPin?

Quote from: RadioTubeClock;1332427This could be interesting. Also you paid 200 USD for a DS Lite wtf. I got mine at launch for like 140.
Well, including Mario Kart DS and Brain Age.

Woah, what the hell. I wonder what the graphic limitations on the iPhone are...
if there were two guys on the moon and one of them killed the other with a rock that'd be pretty fucked up wouldn't it?

A large part of the DS target audience is children, what child has a monthly income to support paying a phone bill??

The reason the DS is so successful is that it appeals to all age groups and all different kinds of people. The Iphone only appeals to a few of these groups and people.

The Iphone really isnt a threat. Considering it to be one is foolhardy at best. Personally, Id be more worried about the PSP. It sells like hotcakes in japan and I'm sure it sells pretty nicely over here too.

People aren't going to buy an iPhone to play games on it, they're going to buy it to get a phone.

I wouldn't buy an iPhone to get a phone.

Nobody is going to buy an iPhone to play games on it. I'm sure the graphic limitation on an iPhone is enough to keep it from competing with the DS. They'll probably sell an attatchable graphics enhancer for the iPhone for $764763423434773476437634 extra but no one will buy it because the games will be shitty.

Exactly.

The iPhone... its like the iTouch, but it has regular internet, a phone, and costs $800000 more dollars. I believe DS and iPhone could start a stupid war.
