Quote from: joliet_jane;1974180Yeah... I was not going to NG often before the redesign happened, but after it, I just stopped using it. It became a hassle for me to look for things and load things. Hurts my eyeballs to look at it.

This is actually why I stopped going there as well. Even all these years later its still complicated and stupid. I thought I was just getting old, but I guess NG just has a shitty design.

Also while I hope web based cartoons find a nice place to get some cash, I can't say I'm all that upset about RubberNinja not making any bank off of it. He has and always will be a massive cunt in my eyes.

This! This a million times. One of the reasons I dropped off the face of the portal back in 2007 is that internet moved on and so have many potential users. Newgrounds just doesn't mesh with the current landscape of apps. I would love to watch content on a smartphone and you can blame Apple all you want for that, but at some point I think some of the blame lies squarely on Newgrounds' proprietors for failing to adjust to the sea change of the mobile market. The current redesign is fancy, don't get me wrong, but it's not groundbreaking and if newgrounds wants to survive it simply must change.

I know this has all probably been said before, but its just thought I would add my $0.02.

good post. we should totally suggest to tom fulp to make flash mvoies/games playable via smartphones, AND
he shoudl make a redesign of the site that will be simpler, and more easy to use.

There's only so much Tom can do, BB10. Apple is pretty much killing Flash by not supporting Flash on iPhones and iPads.

Slurpee

Has anybody tested Newgrounds' HTML5 support? it's definitely going to have some issues, because if there's one thing adobe and macromedia did right it was cross-platform and cross-browser stability, but in theory every currently supported operating system should support html5 playback, and Adobe has started releasing tools to convert to or create in html5

Quote from: IronClock;1974822NG used to work on android's firefox browser. All you had to do was click the content and it loaded the plugin (flash) necessary to play it. But just recently NG changed again so now it detects your browser and refuses to load the content if you're on mobile. Hella gay

hmmm... this is a serious issue for NG then... i mean for smartphones and tablets, it's like NG doesnt even exist!
shouldn't we e-mail tom about this?

maybe he should downgrade NG into an older version, so that it can PLAY flash movies/games in smart-phones/tablets.
those things are the future, and he might miss the train if he doesnt fix this problem fast.

ok, but WHY apple does not support flash, or adobe stuff programs..?
and if apple rejects this, then this can only  mean that the androids (system) support flash, right?
