Week 2 has been called the most difficult week of NaNoWriMo. The novelty of Week 1 has subsisted, and that's left you with the chilling reality that you're writing a novel in a month. My God, what have you done!

At this point, writer's blocks may form, you may notice that the characters are half-formed, the plot may keep going off on tangents, and there is the distinct possibility that you shouldn't even bother. Heck, I'm going through it too; after the main characters meet the villain, I haven't the slightest idea what should happen next.

But drive those thoughts away! Every writer from Murasaki Shikibu to Stephen King has gone through this exact thing. NaNoWriMo pep talks from famed authors (which you should sign up for) reveal that they go through a crisis of literary identity when they reach this stage of writing (an e-mail I got from Neil Gaiman last year revealed that he called his editor in a panic while writing American Gods and said he can't continue, and she laughed at him and said "You're going through this again?")

So persevere! Write through this, and whatever happens, everything will start coming together. At some point, it won't be like you're writing about characters; the characters will be writing you. The book will carry itself in awesome directions as your creative drive kicks into high gear. And your word count will continue to climb, and you'll realize that you're suddenly on Week 3! You're almost there!

So don't lose heart.

I haven't been getting writers block so much as getting lazy or falling asleep at 4 and wasting the whole day. But today I don't have any excuses to procrastinate and I should get a least a few thousand more words of aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa done tonight.

Well, now do i have her kiss him or touch foreheads? She has to gain language somehow.

Excerpt for context.

Quote“I was wondering if it was capable of holding in things like that.” Jake said. The arm pulled inwards and slammed the man against the glass, knocking him out. “I guess not.” The fist felt around and found the remote, and retracted into the hole it made into the glass. A few seconds later, the glass cleared up again, and Jake was once again subject to the woman’s intense glare. He stood up and backed away from the window, picking up and holding the chair in case he had to use it to bat her away again. The woman made no move as he slowly retreated towards the door. She continued to stare at him, then suddenly gave a smile. Jake was taken aback for only a few seconds, then heard a whoosh and a slam as the door sealed shut right behind him. He turned to face the door, a large thing of solid tank armor, and wondered what he was going to do now. He heard the crash of shattering glass, and whirled around to face the sound, chair at the ready.
He never got to use it. The chair was knocked out of his hands, and Jake was thrown against the wall. The female managed to break through the armored glass and cross the length of the room in less than a second to ram him, and she now had him pinned by his hands against the wall. She stood on his shoes to pin them to the floor. Her eyes were level with his, and he could only watch and breathe as she scrutinized him with that piercing glare.

is it like a weekend for you or do you just not have like anything you're obligated to do ever? it's difficult for me to get more than 1.6k in one day, let alone finish a book and start another. ;s

I pretty much never have to do anything ever, not counting school. I don't work and I do my homework on the bus.

And actually I'm kind of off to a slow start on the second book.
