Of the ones already mentioned, my favorites, musically are the N64 Rare and Zelda soundtracks. For function Myst has the most wonderful soundtrack work in any game I've ever played, same for Riven. The background music is good, but not quite a match to Rusty Bucket Bay's cantankerous audition. It is, still, mostly functional, as mood music.

Beatmania IIDX. You have underestimated the series, it has had some pretty good songs in recent versions. One of them is from Gold (14th Style, I think I posted that stupid GOLD RUSH song from it on YouWhore), and the rest are from DJ Troopers, the current (but soon to be "previous" version, once Empress comes along...ugh), which will be coming out on JP PS2 in December.

Halo 2 was super shitty but I really liked the guitar they added into the main song. Halo 3 did the same thing but with a piano and I think it failed

I can't say the soundtracks of WC3 were all that memorable or good, it's a great game and I suppose the music fitted, but I would't say the music was good.
