The Mist (Cheshire Clcok is behind the times.)

So I saw the mist and I was curious about that you guys thought of the movie. Personally I thought it was great until the end. the twist was weak, and it just seems like they were just trying really hard to make a twist ending. It made the whole movie pointless, and seemed like a giant middle finger to the audience. It wasn't a Stephen King ending, and left you with no sense of mystery or fulfillment. Loved the rest of it though.

Plus they killed off the coolest old lady ever.

I watched this movie at my friends house but fell asleep about 30 minutes into it. Then I woke up during the middle and went back to sleep. Then I woke up and saw the last 5 minutes. lol
The ending killed my soul :/ Seemed like a pretty good movie from the parts I saw.

I didn't like it, the religious lady annoyed me a lot, it was hard for me to enjoy because of her.

The ending was the best part.

I loved the ending. Such a ballsy gutpunch and it's amazing to see a Hollywood film take such a risk with such a downer ending.

The book was almost identical up until the ending.

Except maybe minus the racial undertones of the flat earthers, and iirc there was a discrepancy with the military guys- I don't think that Sean William Scott looking guy was sacrificed in the book.

But other than that, yeah. Almost identical.

I read on the internet that Stephen King thought the movie's ending was much better suited to a horror film, and described the book's conclusion as a "pollyanna ending."

While I can see where he was coming from, it still makes me sad. The last word in the book was "hope" =(

The ending of the book wasn't exciting enough to work in a movie.

I would normally be laughing too, but in this case I loved the movie so much up till the end that it really fucked it up for me.
