These two are my first real experiments with sharpie

This is earlier pen sketch. I'm trying to learn some of the Indian spiritual art style

Here's another early pen sketch. Lots of mistakes.

And heres a better scan of the ink drawing for my friend's jam band album

(Super high res version)

Quote from: RibsClock;1530942I like the second one. The full-sized sharpie's kind of hard to work with in making something look good imo, you did a good job with it.
Thanks. Yeah, they bleed alot really fast too which I found sometimes work to your advantage but often leads to fucking up shit.

I'm not too keen on the last 3. I think you need to look at your composition a bit more. I'm not saying I'm an expert, but they just look too either busy or just like, this shit goes here and that goes there.

They're obviously supposed to be as busy as I can get them while still incorporating a certain flow. And what do you mean by " this shit goes here and that goes there"?

Digging this one. Well, besides the morphing bit to the lower-right, not really into that kind of stuff.

I figured that one out elsewhere.

Hm, what connection could it have? After all, I just mean "abstract"ish things like said "woman's head on the end of a jawline with teeth, but oh wait, it's really the root of a flower".

4th one's my favourite

busy things need careful composition

Yes they do, and its very difficult to do the way I go about drawing spontaneously. I draw something and then often try to draw something out of the negative space around it which leads to the insane psychedelic overlapping effect I'm going for but especially makes mistakes messy when I'm using pen. I do these sketches in an hour or two (the last one four) and I plan on continuing to bang them out, hopefully progressing so I can continue to be experimental.
