yeah chances are if you've lived in the maritimes you'll have run into some fishermen, and chances are you'll have ran into hicks, car obsessed drunks who thrive off bare knuckle brawling with town kids.

but yeah slumdog millionaire is fucking incredible and by far the best movie of the year if not the best of the past 5.  it was most certainly not chosen due to nobody seeing or hearing of it, because quite frankly i'd heard about it probably 6 months ago, maybe more and have seen countless commercials for it since then, it was chosen because it is an expertly crafted cinematic MASTERPIECE that takes you through a wide range of emotions, all of which are legitimate and not forced at all, it is without a doubt one of the most powerful tales of struggle, love, brotherhood, trust, destiny and hope we have seen in recent times, it deserved the oscar entirely and anyone who disagrees is a fool and doesn't deserve to watch movies that have titles which don't end with MOVIE, so fuck you nintendo you fucking piece of shit, enjoy meet the spartans or whatever fucking tyler perry movie you think is so much superiour, i'll be watching art and being moved to my core. fuck you so much, fuck you repeatedly, fuck you with a rubber fuck you to death fuck you.

You damn-near live on an island, a Canadian island, what do you expect people to drive?



The simplest and most obvious reason would be the fact that you live off of a river. You have a population of JUST over 10,000; What else would people to do?



You are not a redneck. Nothing about what you have described is "redneck" or "white trash". Rednecks may wear flannel but I'll be damned if it wasn't considered Canadian first.

You lived in a small town with a population of 10,000+ whose economy base has been founded on Canadian lumber jacks and the Miramichi river itself. By no means does any of that fulfill the definition, even the modern term, of a redneck.

It does however explain the need for rootsy get-togethers and the habitual drug usage. With a small population and a vast distance between towns and Cities: people will still find entertainment.
