I have only chickened out of one fight and it was an "initiation". About 15 - 20 drunk seniors vs. the 3 of us, who were, at the time, only about 5'1 and had just entered Grade 9.

Needless to say, only one of us got beat up and it wasn't me. I was already popular and even some of the seniors knew me. Still, they didn't hesitate to beat up my friend. The guy that was beat up carried a chip on his shoulder for weeks about it.

I don't think i could undergo an initiation, if anyone said to me: "you have to do this humiliating thing or else you're not aloud in our club!" id probabbly say: "fuck that, cya douchebag".  Not that i would even want to be part of a fraternity considering the Dutch ones are pretty lame and ive got plenty of friends already.

I've never rescued anybody from a beating. I'd like to think I would, though.

it was one of those 5 on 1 things where somebody's brother did something to somebody's dad or some shit so a bunch of pussies assembled together with rocks and sticks to beat up some other guy- typical idiotic gang shit.
 
as sean tells it, just as he had processed what was happening and decided to do something (against the urging of the person who was with him at the time), a balding shirtless skinny aging hippie who was jogging by and looked to be in his 50's or 60's appeared, screamed something to the effect of "We're all brothers here man!!" and ran over and broke up the fight. I salute you, shirtless hippie man... where ever you are.
