New stuff!

Harmony
Floating, and I'm at rest.
The cadence of the waves will carry me
home, and I am alive in song.
Bring me baskets of fruit, berries and
flowers. The perfume won't
match but I'm happy to
pretend. It's
been weeks since I have tasted
sweet amber honey, the
sticky golden cobweb thread that
surrounds your face like a
molten halo of
everything that once was.

Delusions, Act I: Wreck
Call this me calling
you to let you know, home sweet
that I'm home safe.
I've patched my walls, boarded all
my windows; I'm a politician
trying to save face.

Yet you can see it in my eyes that my ship
had already capsized; I'm sails and rope
planks and masts; nests of hope
struck by lightning lies.

I'll float until morning, and wash
up on virgin shores.
She said "You're a saint", yet I
called her a whore
I'll regret every word, bite
back every thing I said
You're no whore; you're a doll,
sewn with golden angelic thread.

Delusions, Act II: Wolves
All my barrels are empty, my six
chances blown.
Eternal, I lied when I said "Honey,
I'm home".
You led me too far south, took
me too far from the tracks,
We built this house together but I'm
never coming back.
Yes, I left for a thousand years,
I was wandering, lost at sea-
I'm not gonna lie: believe me, honey, there's
no place I'd rather be
than in my home, home with
home sweet
Safe within white washed walls
of concrete
I would have found love, love
within rubble and dust.
My love, I was mistaken; young hearts
are simply fuelled by lust.

Take me down, down to the garden
and the hungry wolves will follow
Interrupted; I'm sorry, home sweet:
I'm left satisfied
yet hollow

GAG
Why try? How I'm feeling is
of such confusion that it would
be wrong and impossible to explain
it with words alone.
I've never known
inability such as this, and it would seem
that after this lifetime thus far
of speaking and writing and knowing
my alphabet I have still not yet
found my voice. What terror has it
been, that makes me mute? A
child; afraid to ask for more. Adolescent;
unable to perform. It'll never be explained.

ROSARY
I'll lie, sweating in cold sheets
Whispering three words to myself;
imagining a different voice.
These scratches of thorns and
thistles around my forehead
are beginning to heal-
for far too long has my head
dripped rust and
love.

Twenty six; twenty one
It was all for you, pretender.
I'll die with the wicked,
free of deceit.
For far too long I've been the
man of sorrows.

#4
GLORYBOUND
Spill forth and speak filigree motions
Butter wouldn't melt; decadence, I'm
not yet man enough.
"What if," became "why not", I've
felt this for years.
I'm not ready to swallow
my pride, bookmarked for one
last chapter I'll lay us to
rest on my bedside table.
I'm not done.
This isn't over yet.

HELLBOUND
Find me in the darkest of days.

Baring my teeth, snapping
at visions of horror
Created from
smoke and then from matter.
Find me a shipwreck; moved by the chorus
of grieving widows and swarms of locusts.
Leave me behind, darling
we'll forget eachother's names
You can bury your sins beneath
a mountain of false shame.
Sweet spiteful poison,
I was drinking to your health
I did this all for you, while you
were thinking of yourself.

SPLINTER (a haiku)
Hands held in sunlight
Shining through frosted glass panes
Filled with ice water

HIGH WATER
Vanity; how sweet the sound
Painting myself in fanciable
colours, writing
a masterpiece of my own glory.
Wearing my compassion with
too much pride upon my
chest and my sleeve
and over your eyes, that you might see
just how much I give a fuck.

TARGET
Marked as a target all my life, I've
always been just within your sights.
We've hunted deer of our own, and
I think that for now at least we've each
got does- but still
I feel safe with your rifle trained
on me.
I know I've shot words at you in the
past but through death and love
lost, you're still a vigilant hunter.

BLOODBOUND
Every time I fall
further down through
the mattress and
I feel less like family and
more like a stranger.
This feels less and
less like home.
