I did my list based on the actual year not how the Academy votes

Quote from: Munglai;1709965Also nice but I think Hero makes the most of that kind of style of film making and fighting. Crouching Tiger and Fearless and House of Flying Daggers all look lovely but there isn't much reason for them to, it's just traditional. The only thing that lets Hero down is those blur effects which really haven't aged well at all.

Have you seen Ip Man? They get a really good balance in that between realism and wacky flying around stuff.

I haven't seen Ip Man but I intend to.

-Amelie
-Little Miss Sunshine
-Science of Sleep
-Where the Wild Things Are
-Juno

I don't know about Little Miss Sunshine or Science of Sleep but Amelie, Where the Wild Things Are and Juno are definitely not indie.

Quote from: PatriotClock;1710594I am aware that The Wrestler and Slumdog Millionaire were both limited released in the US in 2008, but they both went wide in 2009 and that is when I saw them in theaters so i'm counting it!!!!!

I bet you are one of those people that say that The Fall is a 2008 movie even though it was released in 2006.
