edit button in Groups is gone

if it's not showing up for regular users, it's probably a problem with one of the if tags in the vb templates

the technical aspect afaik is the groups hack we're using is badly polished, and only looks like it's fully integrated with the bbs. it's apparently been broken in a couple ways since we installed it- I don't think the groups were originally intended to be a permanent fixture of the site, at least in the state they're in.
whatever doohickey it is that checks to see whether a user should have post editing permissions in the thread viewing template, I think is called in from the bbs subdirectory (which the groups hack is for some reason stored separately from, which causes a whole bunch of minor url path problems that you might've noticed... I fixed the flash and imdb images in the groups reply temp while I was in there, incidentally). if I'm right, this means I can't edit it directly without fucking around with the check in the site proper, or, worse, it might be stored in the kinda-sorta-hard-coded php documents, which would mean I wouldn't be able to fix it from the admincp.
I'll keep cracking at it, but it's probably not something I'll quite be able to fix this morning.


In the mean time, here's a terrible workaround:
in the corner of the posts, where the edit button should be, there should be a quote button instead.
right-click and copy the URL from the quote button.
it should look something like this:
http://www.clockcrew.cc/groups/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=####
with the hashes being actual numbers

take those numbers out and append them to the end of this URL
http://www.clockcrew.cc/groups/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=
