Yeah this looks pretty shitty, the scene with the guy in his car doesn't seem very believable, I would expect that the meteors were noticed sooner and that the kids would be screaming. The addition of the "GOVERNMENT IS BAD" cliche is another bad point.

Also one part seems to mirror a Calvin and Hobbes strip pretty well: a train falling into a fissure, followed by an explosion.

Then again, 2012 is more vague so they might just say "oh my god, X thing happened it's a sign of the apocalypse".

How can you have a plot around 2012?
The whole thing is just a huge money grab like Y2k like Flounderman said.  So many authors are publishing novels on it so they can make tons of money for their bullshit.   Maybe there's a little more to it, but I don't understand how the Mayans not finishing their calender makes it the end of the world.

It looks like a steamy poo and I'm surprised Nicholas Cage isn't in it.

But, as moviebob said, the movie has around five scenes in the trailer that could be the "money shots" of lesser disastor movies, so it mayb be worth seeing for some of the cooler scenes.

It's hilarious really, all these films about getting to a single point where there's a helicopter to escape... wait, the world? Brilliant.
