Oh man I remember the ninja's. They were the first sets to feature diamonds, katana's and I believe gliders too.. This probably makes me sound like a dick

The ninja and egypt shit was just after my time. I pretty much had sets from every series but the bulk of my lego was stuff from (several) Pirate and Medieval series (the one with the blue/lion, red/wolf, green/dragon guys mostly), oh and i also had that Western series complete. Never really cared for the City line.
