Alright, I'm making a music video for Clock Day 2010, but I'm getting really tired of having to watch the flash over and over again while I'm working on it to make sure the flash is synced up to the sound. Is there any easier way of doing this?

Set sound to stream instead of Event which pushes the animation with the sound, and then just live preview it in Flash by pressing uhh I think it's space or enter or something on the timeline.
Now everybody wants this thick afro body but I blow dry that hair and never let it down.

Also, I find it useful to adjust your audio settings via publish settings. If you want a better sound quality, go to Publish Settings -> Flash -> Click "Set..." next to the Audio stream section -> Change Bit rate to 56 kpbs -> Quality: Best and then hit ok -> ok. I don't know if you already know this, but I figured I'd point it out anyway.

Not to mention you can always add a temporary gotoAndPlay(#); on the first frame and replace the # with whatever frame you'd like to jump to. That way you can jump ahead and still do the Ctrl+Enter thing.

BunnyClock

Or you could use scenes

Yeah, but scenes aren't going to work if he's streaming the music in the timeline unless he's going to break the track into segments... which often sounds shitty. Plus, I doubt he has the software for it.

Sat's advice is really good. Never thought of doing that..

AstronautClock

what satellite said is the best advice

Well, now that I have all that I need, you guys can go ahead and make this thread about whatever you want.

I'm sure the staff will just quash the thread. So I'll just throw in that if you need any kind of sound editing done... I've literally got a mini-sound studio at my disposal in my room. PM me and I'd be more than happy to help ya out..

My favorite way of doing this is to generate blank audio files in audacity and use them wherever there is a gap in audio. This keeps the animation synced to the audio the whole time, no matter how many scenes you have and is pretty easy. It also makes it easy to identify your sound layers on the timeline.
