I imagine it sucks for the same reason Scott Pilgrim is going to suck: a pretty movie with hokey dialogue and an obnoxious lead that thinks it's more epic than it really is.

Scott Pilgrim was fantastic.
Also this is idea is really stupid and I can't imagine too many people going to see it. Didn't James Cameron make enough money already?

Probably, at this point i think he's just trying to really hammer home the point that cliches and special effects are more important than creative ideas and good acting.

Meh, Avatar was unimpressive. The 3D was cool and all, but it couldn't make up for the lame storyline and lackluster acting...

That's also why nobody wants to see it on DVD. The only way for the franchise to keep making money was to release in theatres again. Once people saw it on DVD, they began to realize how shitty it really was without the naked blue people flying right in your face.
