ok i just checked and the world's oldest living dog, tobykeith the chihuahua, now 23, appears to have outlived his namesake

there's been this outpouring of love for Shelley Duvall from surprising corners of my socialmediaverse

I sorta expected it from filmbrogram and texasgram, but then I also got an artist reposting the Ray Johnson estate's obligatory Shelley Duvall Fan Club tribute

it's cool that instead of choosing pictures from The Shining, people have been going for photos where Shelley Duvall is in some crazy outfit that's aged incredibly well

i won't say popeye was good beyond maybe the set work, but i heard someone say this universe was created so shelley duvall could play olive oyl in it and that's the only explanation for all of this that's made sense, so far

she hosted a fairytale storytime thing and was a bigger part of more people's childhoods than it probably seems if you forgot she was ever in anything other than popeye and the shining (which, like, who could blame you)
she also was severely mentally ill for the last few decades of her life and had something of the pathos of carrie fisher about her, I think anybody who knew her story was probably rooting for her to get better
