Hey everyone,

A guy a know and a bunch of others I don't have started this animation competition/showcase called Loop De Loop. Not sure if you guys know about it already (I may have posted about it a little while ago). Anyway, the details are here but the gist of it is, every month a new theme is posted, you submit any kind of animated loop to do with that theme, people vote online and then all the entries are screened in a bar here in Melbourne, Australia at the end of the month. The prize for the winner is a DVD or something similar, but it's more about the actual showcase rather than winning.

Anyway, just thought I'd pop back here and let you guys know about it!

P.S. here is my entry for this month http://www.loopdeloop.org/2012/07/andrew-onorato-elements/ VOTE 5

This is a super neat idea, although I have to point out that most of these loops don't actually loop, they just repeat.

I might try and set up something like this at the swingin' film/animation bar over here because it's such a nice brief.

I'd love to check it out but the site crashes my browser.

Also I can't watch the video because I get an error message. :(

AlbinoClock

Okay I managed to get the site to work but i can only watch like 3 of them. Pretty cool, anyway.

I have to agree that most months, only about 10% of them actually LOOP. If there were more submissions each month I'm sure they'd be willing to knock back a few that don't fit the brief but for now, since they're all nice guys they just accept pretty much everything they get. It might be cool if you shoot them an email and see if you could partner it up with the one we have here so it's kind of an international screening every month. That'd be cool.
