This has been around for a while and it seemed like every time it came up some people got, like, violently angry

or vice versa

and I always assumed they saw some small tick I didn't that tipped them off,
and maybe there are some people that that's true for, but they're generally not angry about it, one, and, two, I've yet to see the tick really demonstrated in any empirical way (help?)
anyway, after a while I realized that in some cases there really are people out there who just never learned to really question their perception and, unsurprisingly, they're some of the angriest most obstinate most vocal people you can encounter.
a part of me died that day.

What's crazy about this is

If I stare at the one on the left.. my peripheral vision sees the other two going clockwise.
If I stare at the one on the right.. my peripheral vision sees the other two going counter-clockwise.

It's not too hard, you just have to imagine the leg going either in front of or behind the other during the turn and the direction will change depending on what you pick.

Actually now that I focus on the spinning leg a bit more, it kinda looks off when I try to imagine it going counterclockwise. Like, I can imagine the motion starting, but when I look at it it kinda wobbles. Like the leg gets smaller than you would think it should if you're imagining it passing in front of the dancer.
