How do I construct a lineless Artichoke?

So I'm working on a new set of veggies built mostly out of objects without using lines for definition. This has worked out decently for a handful of veggies, but I'm having trouble with Artichoke. I've tried a few different things and I'm not happy with any of them. I guess I could go back and shade each leaf individually but I hadn't really planned on shading them all and just one would look awkward. Does anyone have suggestions?

If I can't figure anything else out I'll probably just use this, but I don't really like it that much.

Yeah.. I run into the same issues. Tried to draw Durian one time and it was really not coming together.

I agree if you add shading to distinguish the leaves on Artichoke... you'll have to go back and re-do the other veggies for the sake of continuity.

If you look at my latest drawing of you, there are subtle highlights to add roundness to the berries. You can do something like that?

I would just stick with the last design. I like it... even better than the line drawing ones (which kinda look like bouquet of green dicks clock, but that's nature's fault not yours.)

Hey that's a pretty good way of doing that, I like that picture. I hadn't seen that before.

I hadn't noticed the dick bouquet thing, but you are completely right.
