So... hey. I've recently been flung back into the animation ring against my will and have some questions for those of you who have stayed in the loop over the past many years.

I know that Apple had deemed flash unworthy a while back therefore flash does not work on iPads. And considering the rampant popularity of the device it makes sense that anything that doesn't work on it is going to die a horrible and painful death.

If people are not using flash anymore, what are they using to make animated logos, overly-interactive websites, and animated porn? I feel like the boat left without me and no one told me there was a boat to get on!

Its more than alive my good friend. To everyone that matters, like us. Andddddd the government. And Ethiopians.

Plus one day if we need to move from flash to another form of media it'll happen. Just gotta go with the cards we're dealt. For now, its no sweat ;D

Fuck apple anyway.
We\'ll be back shortly.

PezClock

It's not dead, welcome back btw! Can't wait to see what you will be making for us!

Slurpee

shit, sup knight

we still use flash here for the most part, but video and HTML 5 have exploded and everything is kind of sharing the stage
im pretty sure professional animators are still trained to use flash, but also ToonBoom, and of course illustrator/after effects

but I don't know much about professionals I am mostly a screw ball

Apple's refusal to provide Flash support is clearly financially motivated. Anything else is bullshit. I mean c'mon.. bugginess? From the fucks who brought you Apple Maps??

Allowing Flash compatibility would open them up for more third party apps and they couldn't rape you in the Apple app store.

AbsintheClock

Flash ain't dead. It's on my computer right now.

Fax Clock

Apple is stupid.

Do it my way, animate in flash, if you want to share them convert them with Swivel.

FLOUNDERMAN_CLOCK

As long as the Canadian animation industry exists flash will never die.

CadillacClock

hmtl5 is more secure than flash but lacks the versatility and ease of use. apple blocking flash is less about security and privacy than cutting down microsoft and adobe's profit margins. adobe has already released a tool that switches .swf/flash into html5 format. it's expected to grow along with html5.

so no not dead, i guess.

FrostShell

Would you happen to remember what that program is called?

Thanks Fax, I'll give it a try.
