I'm likely the only person on earth excited about smash run mode. it's basically city trial from kirby's air ride which is the smash bros of racing games.

Quote from: Thor;1976077Well luckily this new game has improved physics and actual gameplay features that put it back on par with melee in addition to irrelevant things like graphics and alternate game modes. Having the new features like Final Smash and improved graphics combined with actually interesting gameplay mechanics and combos is like having your cake and eating it too.

I'm just saying that if somebody says brawl is the worst smash, they might still think it's a really great game. For me brawl is like an 8/10 and the other two are a 9/10.

Respectable.

I'm stoked, Kirby Air Ride is fucking awesome, I love the director Sakurai's work so much. I'm actually a huge fan of the other game modes, its fun to me escaping from the chaos for a bit and training by myself with my main and also learning how to use other characters. I just wish that mode was online since my brother is the only one locally who has a 3DS.

You're all my brothers and I'm gonna smash you.

I knowwww. It's such a good party game. I just wish there were more town maps.

I can't imagine how many hours i must have spent screwing around in training mode on the n64 trying screw around with the game's physics any way I could.

Dang smash run isn't online? I guess that would lag to hell over the internet, my connection is bad as it is. Brawl's online was so slow, Ike became unstoppable because nobody could dodge his smash attacks due to the lag.

I watched like 10 online videos from the Japanese version and not one of them lagged once so I think we're in luck this time around.

I have high hopes for this installment after playing the 3DS demo countless times. I really enjoy the stage options where you can set it as a Final-Destination-esque stage or its normal adaptation. Brawl wasn't as bad as everyone makes it seem to be.

Megaman has surprisingly decent smash attacks and air game, with shit special attacks. Which is kind of the opposite of how you would expect Megaman to play, but whatever.

The Wii U just uses the Nintendo Network I think IDK why the 3DS just doesn't do that also.

Yeah I'm not the biggest fan of Mega Man. I like his games I just don't like how he plays. My mains don't really use projectiles (Kirby and Mr. Game & Watch, gonna add Pac-Man and Lucina to that so still no), only ones that come to mind are G&W's fried meats (which I never use and never seemed to do much to me) and Pac is gonna have the classic fruits to throw. I'm a close combat fighter.

I actually think Mega Man is probably the most successful translation of a character into a smash game. Everything from what he does to how you use him feels quite a lot like playing a classic mega man game. His moves and animations feel remarkably faithful to the original games, and Mega Man has always been about playing keep-away against bosses. His style in this game is very much "keep them out until I'm ready to kill them."

If his specials were any more powerful than they are he'd probably be grossly overpowered, considering his armament of ranged A-moves. Some things you may not know about his moves though, after pressing neutral b, immediately tilt the circle pad in the direction you want to throw the sawblade and he will angle the shot. His side b's bomb can be transfered between characters if they bump into each other. His up-tilt is probably a better kill move than his up smash at close range, seriously, try it. Leaf shield makes for a good approach option if your opponent is blocking or reflecting your projectile game. You can grab with the leaf shield on, so short-hop > leaf shield > land dash grab seems to be a pretty solid way of getting in. Down throw into uptilt for a potential K.O.

I'm still doing lab work here but he seems much stronger than he looks at face value. I have a feeling he will end up having strong safe approach setups eventually along with his godlike zoning.

I am enjoying so far what they are doing with the new and old characters in this game making their movesets a lot more interesting. Mega Man's integration is a great example because it applies all those factors you mention but also the Mega Buster itself feels very satisfying even if they are just normal Smash attacks. I like to spam the lemons he shoots even if they do relatively small damage.

From what I have seen, Duck Hunt is an all-out "zoning" character that makes Melee Falco look like a joke, and it seems like Ness got a HUGE overhaul and I hope that also means he got something similar to his SSB64 smash attack power which was nuts-powerful.

SSB4 looks like a major revision of going back to basics instead of just bloating the game with unnecessary extra content.
