Low quality flash animations/animutations did used to be a cool niche thing, but now that "genre" is so over crowded everyone has stopped giving a shit. This is probably why the Clock Crew has seen a drop off in members, contributions and controversies lately.

I really like the idea of the Clock Crew, but we can't cling to the past. I'd love for the Clock Crew to be more focused on teaching young artists good animation techniques and sharing well made movies, rather than two shapes on a screen with a shitty TTS wav.

I don't think the Clock Crew is fizzling because of stylistic "overcrowding;" I think Flash as a medium is dead. Animators and fuck-around-and-make-funny-movie-ers alike are releasing to video because bandwidth is cheap, and fuck-arounders aren't animating because fuck-arounders have never liked to animate; they just do whatever they have to do to make a funny. Though it has certainly both produced and been home to honest-to-goodness animators, I think the Clock Crew has always been, at its heart, a community of fuck-arounders, not animators.
