Hype as fuck.

Slightly skeptical about how this time travel (essentially) angle will fit into the progression of on-going world events. If the whole thing is just sort of shoved into the caverns of time, i guess that's okay but if that's the case; there better be some Azeroth-based political happenings to go with it.

just the character models getting updated makes me rock hard so you could consider me a little biased

I'm surprised that people still pay for this game.

Autoboost to lv 90? Oh good... we can just skip our way to the end. As much as I love the revamped Vanilla from Cataclysm, I can barely stand the few hours in Outlands and surprisingly I HATE Northrend. Never gave the real Cata or Panda endgame a shot though. Shame, I recall having fun sometimes with this game.

Is it just me or do the new char models look no differet? Maybe some higher res textures but thats about it?

I'm kinda mixed in my feelings on that. On the one hand; it's only one character, so for me it's just a free top leveled alt. On the other hand, you're ushering new players past 3 expansions worth of content. But at the same time 100 levels is a fucking high cap and it's totally understandable that someone not already invested would burn out before then, like you did, and like i have a couple times.

The idea was to update the polygon count on the characters while still keeping the same general design to them, so that the player characters continue to look the way the player chose for them to look however many years ago.

on the art panel they talked about the new models alot more and showed how they changed from this to this. So it's a bit more than just new textures.

One of my favorite things about WoW is that they don't go for the harsh realistic look, and how their cartoonish theme ages so much better than, say for sake of example, something like Guild Wars did.

As someone who still occasionally cries himself to sleep after the druid model changes (and I haven't even played a druid since BC) I was expecting these model updates to fall into my usually category of "CHANGE (WHICH I HATE)" but wow, I've had to make a new list for change that I LIKE. They do still look the same, just better

All the WoW related stuff is said and done and here's what i managed to take away from it.

The story will pick up with Garrosh's trial following the seige of Orgrimmar, and he will escape somehow and team up with the bronze dragon from the timeless isle to travel back to the Outland of 35 (in game) years ago, aka Draenor. He will do so by using some magical bullshit on the Dark Portal which will turn it Red which is awesome because it probably means we're getting another one of these login screens. The Alliance, being at full strength following the successful Org raid will be pursuing him. When Garrosh gets to Draenor, the point we find the Orcs in is one where they've united as a Horde to commit genocide on the Draenei, but we're two years shy of drinking the blood of Mannoroth and tainting their blood with fel energy and all that shit. Garrosh brings with him the schematics for seige weaponry, Ash Williams style, and this untainted original horde with new tech is known as the Iron Horde.

Horde hub zone is Frostridge in the north-west of draenor, and the Alliance hub is Shadowmoon in the south-west, but we're supposed to be coming through the dark portal which is still in that central peninsula that will become Hellfire. So that'll be nifty.

They mentioned that while the events happening on draenor are happening in the past they will have ramifications to the on-going story progression of Azeroth; though not in the time-travel-paradox sort of way. They also alluded to the fact that we will be dealing with Sylvanas and her rapidly growing thirst for power and general dickery, as well as the Gilneas situation. I'm personally hoping we'll get a bit of Dalaran and Stromguarde in on the action, but that's a pipe dream.

The big 'where the fuck are Turalyon and Alleria??' question got dropped and Dave Kosak said we're not going to see them quite yet but at this point they are going to be coming up soon.

Grommash Hellscream will supposedly be the boss of this Expansion. Couldn't really tell if the dude was joking when he said that so, hey, I'll roll with it. I guess we're confronting Garrosh's daddy issues this time around.
