I woke this morning and I was a Moderator

Well I'm really flattered and all, but a few years back it was decided that all future moderator positions would be voted upon democratically. I don't want to see the CC staff turing back into an old boy's club again, so let's vote on this. If you guys want me to stay on as mod I'll gladly do it, but if not there are no hard feelings.

The reason I was put on as mod for now is that I've been working with other staff members on rebuilding the site from the ground up. Plus, with Absinthe stepping down from being admin, we had a gap to fill. So I'll moderate pro tem until we make final decision on where to go from here.

If you choose to let me stay on I'll do my best act fairly as a moderator. When I had the job before I was always light on the ban button, and given the state of the crew now I don't know how often I'd even need to use it all.

I'd really like to get the crew more active in art, and sharing skills and knowledge. I want to work on getting the academy back up and running, in some form or another; finding ways that we can give each other tips and encouragement to make better Flash.

OK, so I committed a faux pas by promoting Renegade without due process. In the past, when a vacancy opened mid-term... the staff appointed a replacement. It's what we did originally with Miraclefruit and he's the most committed fucking mod we have.

The only person I should really have consulted first was Patriot. I tried to find him first but couldn't catch up with him online. Of course I love and respect Jeff... and I'll tell him so whenever the fuck I can find him.

Let me explain the very simple reason I made the bump.

 Flounder and Poly come around and post here n there. We might see Troppy on the 'who's visited' list. Beyond that, Miracle is the only consistently present mod. With Abs vacating his role... I thought having another intelligent, mature, tenured clock to make sure we don't have any kiddie porn or anything posted would be helpful. He also working side by side on coding projects with Sarez so having access to the CP just seemed logical.

Renegade is one of those few people who consistently keeps a level head, as well as contributes in not only art, but programming as well. Him being a moderator is fine, but I really think it's not far enough. Make the guy an Admin IMO.

i agree 100% with this.

renegade has been one of the people who has been always concentrated, calm under pressure, and incredibly artistic.
plus, he is awesome as hell as a person.
one of the best choises for admin in here, along with pop-tart, patriot, and iron clock.

well true, but renegade is a GOOD leader, coming on a bad time for the forums. (our current state).

but this will not diminish the fact that renegade will do a great job at moderating/helping the forums.
