I don't think anyone hates the Simpsons per se, they're just tired of it. It used to be edgy and subversive, and now it's the exact kind of institution it originally mocked. Family Guy's mainstream as hell, and it's supposed to be a deconstruction of The Simpsons. The Simpsons isn't a bad show so much as it's a show that should've been cancelled decades ago. It's a franchise zombie.
