Things Ive missed (how this all happened)

Just like real life. Shit happens people get older. I felt the same way when i came back 3 months ago. But ya just gotta accept the ones who are still here. Which is a great group of talented people. With the launch of sites like youtube and the introduction of smartphones and such, newgrounds isnt what it used to be. Id love if it could bounce back onto its feet. I myself have been trying and so has everyone else..but members arent coming back. Its sad and depressing because ive also been with the clock crew since i was 14. I do believe we can rise again..but it may take a while.

We've talked about ways of attracting new members, but the effort might be in vain if we don't figure out why our older members left. Personal business seems to be the top excuse, but maybe we need to reach out to our departed members and try to learn what went wrong and what we could do to repair it. I have been on hiatus as well for a few years, but I've found since coming back that the people who remain are very dedicated and cooperative. If we could organize some sort of reunion it might help to bring old members back and new members in.

As most have already said, people grow old and move on. I stick around, personally, because the CC has been apart of my life since I started using the internet regularly in the early 2000s. I joined in 03 for gods sake. I was maybe 13 at the time. I dont know if there will ever be a time when I stop at least checking the site for a new thread or two. I think the only thing that'll stop me is if the site is eventually killed off which very well could happen at some point.  

It's inevitable that the CC will die I think. I think, more than likely, those of us who are still here will probably last a bit longer and keep in regular contact but who knows. Things change as time moves on. Regardless of what happens to the group, I cannot deny the impact that this community has had on my life. Even if I am hated by almost everyone in it, I still love the clock crew.

Doesn't help that newgrounds now jams advertisements into movies and has a lower userbase than ever.

Honestly I feel like our badass animations are wasted on there.

ok, first of all:
1. the clock-crews ''peak'' was from 2003 until late 2006, when all the userbase did those huge collabs, and we had (almost) all of our movies/collabs in the front page of newgrounds, and we had new members coming by the dozen. (i was lurking as a guest in 2005-2006, so i have seen many new names at that time)
from 2007 and onwards, we have faced a constant decline, and lets not forget the final nail in the coffin: the tyrrant's reign. (2009-2011)

2. i dont think that i need advice from a person who loved lemonparty and liked the idea of posting people's buttholes for a collab.
i love the clock crew as much as you do, ninty, and asking me to leave, would be as insane as it would be for me to ask you to leave.

well, if thats your plan, we should do a show about videogames, or videos about justin bieber/one direction/ke$ha (which i despice), OR, we could do some animation/videos about sonic/naruto/super-mario/DBZ.

I really like our current Clock Crew, a lot actually. Sure, back in the day we had a great amount of frequently visiting members with their own brand of clock movies, and personalities on the forums. For the most part though, those who are left are extremely dedicated to the group. Especially those still actively making flash movies.

We have members that bump heads every once in a while, and it usually comes from the few that don't make cartoons and just hang out in the forum. I believe it'd help if everyone dropped their ego as much as possible. We're all here for our love of our own brand of absurd animations, we should treat each other like one would with a sibling. Sure siblings bump heads, but never completely out of the disregard of other's feelings. We don't know what goes into each other's personal lives. Someone may be going through a hard point in their life, and it doesn't help if some guy in a group they are also a part starts ragging on you. Everyone has their own opinions on things and all input is good input, but the negativity needs to be brought down to a minimal.

Our almost monthly holiday related collabs have been quite a success. Looking at the reviews alone, we still have a bunch of fans of our movies. Some new fans, some fans who have been watching clock movies from the beginning. We've outlasted dozens of popular NG original flash series. I say we keep up this trend and hopefully we'll draw more members. Maybe convert and teach flash to positive reviewers of our movies. Maybe they want in on the cause, just don't know how to begin. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to make a decent clock movie. Just a thought. Putting in my 2 cents.

Agreed on everything. We really do have a good core of members. The regular collabs are something I really wanted to focus on and I'm glad they're putting somewhat of a spotlight on the crew. I'd like to continue them indefinitely while at the same time trying to enlist new users who are willing to learn. The Clock Crew really is a great place to learn flash. We have plenty of knowledgable members willing to help out, the key is just letting people know we're out here and willing to help develope their creativity and animation skills.

i was never very good at flash animations, in all honesty. i enjoy drawing and stuff (and i enjoyed animating the times that i did it), but i've definitely had a falling out with my creative side as of late (work, school, life). i'd like to get back in touch with it, but not sure i have the time.

also i went to newgrounds the other day and yowza. that place sucks.
