Slurpee

update: one of the people i used to date who identified as male at the time now identifies as gender neutral. not sure if this counts. i think pronouns are retroactive, but it would be kind of unfair if this voided my gold star gay certificate

Marlin Clock

Okay, this may just be me being the social conservative I am, but how can you be gender neutral? What does that even mean?

RobClock

The idea being that Gender is not a binary designation based on biological sex but rather a social construct that everyone is arbitrarily, improperly assigned at birth. ie. being born with a ding-dong doesn't make you a male, being born with a cooch doesn't make you female. So to be gender neutral would in essence just be someone saying that they don't Identify with either the male gender identity or the female gender identity?

SHHH DONT ASK THOSE QUESTIONS MARLIN!
GOOD CHRISTIANS NEVER ASK ABOUT GENDERS AND STUFF!1ONE

as for the neutral gender, as far as i know, usually people are male/female/ and sometimes a bit of both.
so, according to recent studies, a ''neutral'' gender person is either someone who is ''asexual'', or someone who doesn't want to be identified as a specific gender... and he/she wants to be (sexually) independent.

<Marlin Clock> This thread seems proof positive that divisiveness at any level is usually bad for the Clock Crew.

It's sorta like how race is a social construct. Some people have some features that make them slightly different, and we group them all together based on similar features, but as racism becomes less of a barrier, those arbitrary divides are getting blurrier and, in some cases, disappearing. I'm 1/4 English, 1/4 Welsh, 2/8 Scottish and 1/4 Irish, but I identify as English because I was raised here and that's my social conditioning, rather than any biological reason.

Like, the idea that pink is for girls and blue is for boys is completely made-up bullshit from marketing companies with the intention to divide people into groups so they are easier to target and market to, which is actually where we get a whole bunch of gender role stuff from, adverts, not because boys fundamentally like blue, we're just told that and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy through peer-pressure and social conditioning.

There's a bit of a problem with people born with ambiguous genitals, where commonly shitty doctors will go "this is fucked up" and chop off the meat flaps or the dingle-dangle and arbitrarily decide what gender the baby is, and about half the time they grow up identifying as the opposite gender they were assigned to.

its good that peace prevails. also the fact that with logic we can make the world a better place for everyone is a welcome sight, for me at least.

with that in mind, i do believe that people with BOTH genders (aka, people who were born with both genitalia) should decide on their own about ''what gender'' they want to be.
do they want to be male? ok! do they want to be female? ok! do they want to have both genitalia and be both sexes? good!

as long as they dont hurt anyone, its fine by me. and people should accept different sexes/dual-sexes/other new, strange situations...

but most importantly, people should accept everyone and we should never harm others...
i know its a long shot, but we should be good with each other.

PS: a person who is part-scotch, part from wales and part english, is generally (and genetically) a UK man, or a celt.
(considering that the celts and the brittons/brettons were the first to populate  the UK in the prehistoric years, while the british-saxons (aka anglo-saxons) and the normans(medieval norse-men) arrived in england in around 1000 AD.

so, in short, you are a celt/a briton. (genetically)
because both scotland, wales and england are parts of one huge island, the UK.

plz dont hate me for this, i just had the mood to talk about cool stuff...
i personally find celts/celtic history to be very awesome, and i love scotland as well.
(and ireland is very badass BTW)
