But other than that, which of these 2 do you own/prefer/etc?  Once more on the topic of my upcoming prison/house-arrest time: I am doing some prep work of the video game kind.  In recent years I have generally stuck to PC gaming.  In fact, I sold all of my consoles after purchasing all of my favorite games for PC.  PC gaming is still my fav, but glimpsing into my future of lazily slumping onto the couch day after day, I realize that the sheer laziness factor (however minimal) of console gaming is one thing that I will desperately need to keep me breathing.

I make this thread here because this is an impulse decision that I plan on following through with in the next 12 hours.  Amazon is up and ready to add to cart and dump to house in a flash of self loathing and financial irresponsibility.  With your vote be sure to suggest a few titles (exclusives or console-only preferred).  Once ordered, I will post a snippet of the receipt here to prove to you that I listen to your opinions (unless for some reason they end up sucking).

I've never even seen an XBox One in person. Granted, never actually played a PS4, but it has my vote purely on the merit that I can tell you it exists.

dogchild's unmitigated charm has tragically flown under the radar just because it's really bad and costs $15

most of the press it got was expressed confusion about how it got funding from sony and won best game of the year at the playstation awards for titles developed in spain, by people who do not recognize unabashed sincerity and delight when they see it.
it's not the best possible game about a child whose best friend is a dog and uses parkour and his dog's completely normal dog abilities to foil an evil organization that is using poisoned meatballs and unmanned drones to kidnap dogs, but it is the only game.

4/10, highly recommended

PS4 has the better exclusives, which are the only reason to get a console at all.

but the joke is on them in only 500 years I'll be playing them on a poorly optimized buggy emulator on PC. for free. take that Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft.

I don't think it truly matters at this point. Both consoles have their strengths and weaknesses as with any console generation.

PS4 is the beefier console with better resolutions if that's your thing. PSN and XBL will soon cost the same amount of money per year and both consoles share a number of multi-plats. It basically just boils down to do you want to play Halo or do you want to play Uncharted? Gears or Last of Us?

I'd probably go with PS4. The deciding factor is just about every XB exclusive going forward is going to offer PC support meaning we'll soon be playing Gears on PC.
