Went and saw Trailer Park Boys: Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties - The Bubbles & The Shitrockers Story

Plot summary; bubbles has a recording studio in a shed next to his shed. He wants to enter a radio contest to win $100, so he holds auditions to start a band. Julian calls up a legion hall and gets him a gig, the gig goes well and they begin a tour around Nova Scotia. Randy tags along and they use the dirty burger for a tour bus. 14 shows at legions and then Julian gets them a show at a penitentiary. A riot breaks out in the crowd which a clip of goes viral online, which leads to Billy Bob Thornton's band hiring them as an opening act for a European tour. They do several shows as relations deteriorate with Billy Bob's manager culminating in bubbles shit and pissing himself on stage causing his band to get fired. Bubs pays for the rest of the band to go home while he and Randy hitchhike from Glasgow to London. They end up in Whitehall at night, with no money. Bubs hides in a phone booth and calls Julian and Ricky begging them to come get him, while Randy goes about male prostituting himself to earn them money to fly home. The boys arrive and find Bubs asleep in the phone booth with no sign of Randy. They spend a day searching for him, and in the evening Billy Bob calls Bubs and invites him to a party to make amends for the firing. The party is at Abbey Road studios and Randy is there with a homosexual lover. Ricky bullies his way onto stage of a band playing and strong arms bubs into getting himself recorded. A bunch of celebrities join in and the movie ends.


My expectations going in were that of a Mike Smith vanity project and that's what it felt like. The pacing/editing is slow which doesn't help the jokes, Ricky and Julian are not in the majority of the movie, and the lack of series regulars on the whole is felt.

As a bonus, leaving the theatre i come to discover someone has rooted through my truck in the parking lot. Nothing stolen because I'm poor and have nothing of value worth taking, but still a massive bummer.
