What Happened to LockLegion.com

Before I get a lot of "fuck u noone likes u go 2 ll.com", I'd like to say that I am posting in this forum because I know a lot of Locks visit it when locklegion.com is down.

If you want a place to hang out, http://www.group-13.com/locklegion has become the "official" forum for now.

So what the fuck is going on?
The server has been competely "reset" if you will. Why? Because for some reason, the hard drive in the server I was renting from ServerBeach has died. What does that mean? Well, I'm not too sure, but unless some sort of miracle happens, nearly 400'000 posts, thousands of art submissions, even more fla's, and gigabytes of Lockstorage data, have been LOST. GONE INTO OBLIVION.

What the fuck? What about backups?
Well, I thought I was protected when I decided to backup the database to a secret directory on the server daily, and keep backups for 14 days. Apparently not, because when your database backups reach 1.4 gigabytes, you do not download them to your computer, and when you don't do that, your database backups are not protected from such risks as hard drive failure. I was protected against database hacks, crashes and corruption, but not against hard drive failure.

So what's going to happen now?
Firstly, I'll leave it like it is for some days, seeing as I'm going to Amsterdam this week-end, and thus my priority right now is to smoke lots of weed to make sure I don't bad trip with the stuff they have. Once I'm done with that, I'll get on figuring out wether I can restore the old database, lockstorage files, etc.. THEN I'll get onto actually doing it all. Maybe.

So how long will I not be able to go on Locklegion.com for?
Right now, I'd say you have more than enough time to start an unofficial Invisionfree locklegion board. I can't give you an exact estimation, but I'd say about a month, maybe less, maybe much, much more.

I'm afraid that the FAQ (used to) read(s) "premium accounts are not refundable". Indeed, I have, against all expectations, SPENT THE MONEY YOU GAVE ME ON THE SERVER, WHICH HAS DIED. Besides, there are thin chances I'll be able to recover the database, so you might get your old account back. Else, when the site eventually comes up and you have to reregister, I'll give the prem accounts to the people who bought them previously.

I had important shit in my LockStorage! WHERE IS IT? AHH!!!
I'm sorry, but as I said above, all LockStorage files have been lost (for now). This includes MY files so don't think you're the only person on the site with a problem.

We don't care and think that the Locks are a bunch of rip-offs
Cut the crap guys. I just lost a lot of stuff. Time, love and most of all, money. Please try not to make it worse by crapping up this topic.

In case any of you guys (I mean Locks) have a question that hasn't been answered, try to catch me on MSN : trashlock AT locklegion.com or on AIM : TrashClock. You can also post in this topic. I'll do my best to answer your questions.

TLDR: locklegion.com is down and will stay down for a long time, and all data has most likely been lost.
