Actually, in japan he has always been eggman. They just changed it to Robotnik because japan changes the names of everything to be "more american".

As seen in his many different doomsday weapons. Which was the earliest to have "Egg" in the title? The oldest I remember is the Death Egg from Sonic and Knuckles.

The only game that predates Sonic 2 is Sonic the Hedgehog 1, and the Death Egg wasn't in it.

I'll take that as a hint that there were no "egg" weapons in the original game.

At any rate (back on subject), I've really seen more of "Eggman" than of "Robotnik," so the evil guy with the pointy head seems alien. I really liked moving the Eggman from Adventure 2 Battle in the Gardens; he looked really dumb... well, more than usual.

They tried to make him all "realistic" for the 360 game. The whole point of that game according to the guy who made it was "what if sonic were real".

Yeah, seen some trailers / ingame cinematics on this one. I... I dont know. I do want to play this game, but hell no I aint buying a 360 for it.

What pissed me off was that Eggman would come out in a giant robot and would be like "Now look at my most amazing creation yet!" and I was all like "What the fuck you could fit a million of that shit in the Death Egg"


Actually what I want is another Sonic Adventure game. Those were the only 3D ones that were good. I still freaking LOVE SAB2.

Where the heck did that design come from anyway? It looks a great deal different to the Robotnik in the games. Did DIC make that design up like how they made Bowser green and call him Koopa? (His JAPANESE name!)


From what I understand though, they based his design off the nes sprite from Super Mario Bros anyway.

That would certainly explain the lack of the redorange hair he actually should've had, but didn't due to limitations of the first game.
