A six socket polearm is not worth much, it's easy to get by using the socket quest. If it's ethereal or with five sockets, hell yes.

Generally I have found the best way to get a good item from a shitty one is to make a runeword, here is a list of items you can make from runes, along with some cube recipes that let you add some neat magical effects to items.

Does anyone know any fun casters to use? I have already tried all sorc ones, and a hammerdin. I can't play as a character that has to click on each individual monster, too tedious for me. I started to make an fire elemental druid but stopped because it seems to me like his damage would never amount to much.
