Also you weren't totally wrong i checked and the English wikipedia calls it the "dutch ss" although this wasn't the real SS, it was made up of local collaborators who acted as a police force and tracked down Jews, but whatever. Skijegerbataljon means Skihunter-bataljon (kind of like Marshals or Navy seals, elite alpine troops).

There are always people who embrace ideals stronger than the creater of the ideas like the Vichy french etc. who were even worse nazis than the nazis themselves and though you could say they are not "true" SS they got to take part of everything a true SS did including uniforms and titles (albiet these looked differently depending on which nation corps you were from.)

There were Spanish SS and even Turkish SS
