I saw something on animal planet about Ligers. I thought two things when I first saw it. He Man, and putting a saddle on it. I'd ride that thing to school and call him Battle Cat.

That's the difference between races and species, a bulldog and a pitbull are different races, but the same species, but a lion and a tiger are different species, same goes for horses and donkeys.

I remember this film because the black guy dies first.
This isn't amazing on it's own, since in all of those movies the black guy / nerd guy / black nerd always dies first, but...

He was grabbed by one of em during a heroic "WE MUSTNT GIVE UP" speech. One of those speeches that normally tells you "that guy's gonna be the leader and he'll die only at the end, allowing the boy+girl that found eachother during the crisis to escape thanks to his sacrifice".

Totally unexpected, it was great.

Sounds familiar, I either saw a commercial for it or I saw it in the horror section of the old video rental place I went to as a youngin. I'd spend all my time there looking at crappy horror movie cases while my dad got groceries.

Yeah animals with different species of parents can not produce fertile offspring... so unfortunately they can't keep making ligers and tigons....
