seriously, im a HUGE fan of cyberpunk works, from the old novels, to the
games, to the movies (american and japanese) but this whole "cyberpunk fashion" thing is completely wrong and doesnt fallow any of the actual cyberpunk aesthetics, i mean come on rubber tubes? where are the massive ammount of wires and computer chips all sticking out of a mans worn out grey overcoat, with this cybernetic eyepatch and his fadora hat? you dont get that, instead you get nylon, spande, pvc, shitty design patterns, and douchebags with goggles that they cant see out of


im saying if you live in a dystopian future
a. you probably wont look THIS rediculous


b. if you know anything about cyberpunk, you will know its about over the top governments/corporations running shit, and the force of technological development crumbling and bulding up a society at the same, which means shouldnt there actually be something, i dunno CYBERNETIC about this style?

c. your not gonna have your clothing that clean, and if your gonna wear goggles its going to be used for an important reason, not to look fucking cool and to be made of grating, itll be made of glass and or plastic, and itll shield your eyes from some unnatural force (i.e. radiation, dust, rubble)


now i wouldnt be caught dead with this thing on

cyberpunk is a rarely touched on genre today, i mean i know there is the matrix, which is as much cyberpunk as breaking benjamin is "metal", but still that should stand that they completely fuck up a genre thats been around for over 30 fucking years

as i told vbull, a fucking ipod watch would be more cyberpunk than green translucent tubes, the matrix didnt have massive ammounts of blacklight tubes, so what gives?

That's not exactly cyberpunk, no. That's more like Neo-Homosexualism.

To be punk of any kind all you need to keep in mind is that you must absolutely care nothing about the way you dress. "Punks" that carefully pick out clothes aren't punks at all.

Edit - so massive grey overcoats and wires aren't punk either.
What would be a cyberpunk is some guy dressing up in clothes that people will be wearing a hundred years from now, except ragged/half burnt, dirty with oil or paint stains or whatever.
