Well, we really can't prove anything. If I showed you a tree, then put a black tarp over it so none of it was visible, how would you prove to me beyond a doubt that there was a tree under the tarp without actually removing the tarp?

Exactly what I'm getting at. And you also can't prove anything exists because your senses could possibly be deceiving you. The only thing that exists for sure is your consciousness at the present.

...Or they've proven the flat Earth theory. I'd also like to make note of the fact that the original belief that the Earth was flat to begin with stemmed from a misinterpretation of the map of the Earth that only showed the northern hemisphere because it was believed that it would be too hot at the equator to ever cross over into the southern hemisphere.
