Another(?) Warhammer thread

I still don't see how they are different. Are orks aliens or something? Because in Warcraft they are also from a different planet.

The fantasy universe and the 40k universe are diffrent.  At first the wanted it to be the same only in a diffrent timeperiod but that was just to confusing.  In the 40k univers all non human army's are alien.

Well maybe they evolved along with the humans....

that's what i thought at first too, but apparently that's not the case

one theory is that they're both in the same time period but they're in like very distant galaxys

The old theory was, that Sigmar (the old human leader in warhammer fantasy) was one of the emperor's lost primarch (leader of a space marine chapter in warhammer 40k)
and that he was not found along with the other primarch as the planet he landed on was isolated by the warp.

So both games were supposted to be set at the same time, and the planet had not recived contact from outside yet, and was still primitive.


There are plenty of planets that are pimitive ever after contact with the imperium, you can see one in the comic about the space marine chapter 'The Black Templars' where they recruit the best warriors from a primitive planet, "To fight amongst the stars." as a Black Templar Space Marine.

However games workshop cut all ties with this story.

Yeah in the 40k story, humanity is starting to evolve into humans that can tap into the "warp" (in VERY simple terms, use supernatural powers).  The humans that can do this are normally either very powerful and wise humans or are the little weak people who have no understanding of their powers and usually end up being hunted as a mutant or something.

The Orks only live to fight and love doing it and so don´t give a flying fuck.
They are all however ever so slightly able to tap into the warp.  You see, when Ork vehicles and weapons are recovered, they are all found to be useless junk which don´t function.  Basically, when a huge army of Orks get together and fight, they unknowingly are all perfectly focused on battle and in doing so all are tapping into the warp a tiny bit.  Enough so that it makes a difference in the material universe, but not enough so it´s dangerous to their small minds.

So what happens is that if they are convinced that they are the mightiest and hardest.. they are!  If they are convinced that the joke for a weapon they are holding can fire massive bullets and never jam, it can.

That´s why Orks love to paint their vehicles red.  Because "red makes everyfing go fasta!"

Yeah, you can tell I love the story.

They are but they are more fun because they just fight to be awesome and prove they are harder than everyone else, all whilst bullying any other small Ork around them and calling them a git.
