Olympics fiasco

Forgive me if this has been posted, but I couldn't find it. What do people make of the recent protests during the torch relays in London and Paris?

I support them and wish I was there with a fire extinguisher. Hopefully people will have the sense to boycott the Olympics because China isn't acting very nicely. I'm glad the Australian leader has banned Chinese security when the torch goes there.

A video of some stupid Chinese students thinking they were great made me swing that way.

I saw the news earlier today, and I felt that I agreed with the protesters too. The article also said that protesters were expected in every city the torch was to appear. Good.

The Chinese response was basically like "they're being mean! " while showing no inclination to admit there's anything wrong with China.

But seriously, I think this is excellent. Sure there maybe some suffering, but we all know that the policeman that cracks your head open during the protest is just helping the cause! With the Olympics and the recent evil-doers (as George Bush eloquently puts it) bringing a lot of media attention and support for causes within China.

Edit: By "this is excellent" I mean the ongoing Olympics preperations in China, not the ones trying to stop them.

I'm all for boycotting the Olympic games. China has for too long oppressed its peoples and violated dozens of human rights. And they're allowed to get away with it and retain their power because of a greedy global economy.

China also claims Taiwan, which is actually founded by the leader of the opposing communist party (the democratic side). Look how great they are doing!
