I played it when it came out a long time ago. I got a nuke. I nuked some Red alliance country. Got nuked by like 25 of their allies and they hated me forever and still ban me from their esper.net channel sometimes.

I'll give you some help here if that is tldr tho.

Looking at your resources dwarf, you probably wont have a whole lot of trouble finding trade partners. You can search for people on your team in the trading screen and find ones with the resources you want. Try not to get duplicate resources because you won't get overlapping bonuses.

That's so cheap and awesome.

I have them at 18.57 right now, and my tax rate is 20%. I've only 162 working citizens. If I maximize my tax rate I make more money and my happiness drops to just a grinning jumping dude. Is it worth the drop in happiness level for the extra cash, or is there something discreet I'd also be losing?

Yes, it's always worth it to have the highest tax rate.
