Large Hadron Collider.

Not that it matters, though. I'm now entirely convinced the apocalypse is happening in North Carolina.
<Marlin Clock> This thread seems proof positive that divisiveness at any level is usually bad for the Clock Crew.
<PhantomCatClock> are we talking about the same clock crew

Because, this will be the second time in history that scientists have pushed something new forward that has the potential (all be it small) to completely annihilate the planet, and then some.

It's the most massive science project the world has seen... A new internet called "the grid" was developed just to read the massive amounts of data it will create when turned on (an internet over 10,000 times the speed of typical LAN).

It will have the ability to create microscopic "black holes" and simulated "big bangs" on the atomic level.

Theoretically, if this thing goes bad (chance of 1 in like 10,000,000,000), the world will end this June.

I only watched all of that because my sister lives in Cary, NC, which is near Raleigh.
