They've created black holes with colliders before, it;s just they're so small they vaporise before we can really panic, this will probably be the same with this colldier, as the black holes will be too small to handle emiting a large amount of hawking radiation without vaporising.


And besides, apparently there are particles colliding at similar speeds in the upper atomosphere, if there was such a chance of a stable black hole beaing created we would be dead already.

Yeah, the kind of black holes they're talking about can technically funtion mathematically as black holes, but they're nothing like what we ordinarly think of as a black hole. Certainly not a danger to the Earth.

The only part I'm remotely worried about is the possible creation of negatively charged strangelets, but I really don't think that's going to happen. More likely it will revolutionize the standard model with no ill effects.

I would think that no more than 2 particles would be smalled at the same time, not allowing that much space for strange nuggets to form
