Could somebody recommend software that I could use to easily sync an a capella and an instrumental?

audacity, free and easy
it didn't work for me with massive sampling/layering though,  for 2 layers its amazing

It's great for making flashes too.

it's actually possible to make samples kick in/stop half way now?
it was always my main problem of sampling @ fruity loops

HachezClock

ableton live.

all of the ones here will work, but ableton warps your audio into your desired
tempo. it will auto beat match, your songs, and if you don't like the session view , you could use the arangement view like me for more classic arranging, envelopes are simple. also, you can't export in the demo, but you can set up your pc to record your soundcard and record the final song to an audio editor (audacity, sound forge etc.)  and export.

you could also use acid pro but if you use the free version, you cant beatmap and if you buy it it has a ghey beatmap wizard. plus it has a cheap midi implementation.
