You know what I find hilarious?

Most people will post a band that everyone knows as a guilty pleasure, mostly due to reputation. But nobody will ever mention a fairly obscure band as a guilty pleasure due to the lack of scars on their reputation, despite sound. Guilt is driven by reputation, it seems. Just a strange fact.

back on topic, though I find generic power metal laughable, Nightfall in Middle-Earth by Blind Guardian is an album that kind of grew on me over the years

First off, Blind Guardian is awesome, but I see your point. I told my friend that I just couldn't really get into most power metal bands (except Dragonforce, Blind Guardian, and the obligatory songs like Scorpions' Rock You Like a Hurricane). I mentioned how I thought Manowar sucked, and he flipped out on me. He told me that they were the most hardcore band alive and that they signed their record deals with their own blood. 'And what the hell does this have to do with their talent and palatability?'

yea its because people care for their internet reputation and not because tv and radio are pretty much the things that play music you get confronted with without you liking it

people should get more creative and look for more intresting guilty pleasues
