Cell Phone Plan

Since I am going away to college this fall I am in need of a decent cell phone plan (not the piece of shit I have now). This will be the first cell phone that I will be paying for entirely with my own money, so I want to make sure that I'm not paying too much for shit service. Any recommendations as to what company/plan I should get would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Pay as you go is horridly expensive.

It really depends on how much you call or text though, I recommend a fairly sturdy contract that alllows for a lot of texting because it's always better to use up 170 out of 200 monthly text messages than having a 100 message contract where you have to pay loads extra because you went over the limit.

My plan has 275 minutes and 1000 text messages and I pay 24 bucks a month.
