This one was recorded Live at Lima Lounge in Washington D.C. Possibly one of the best Marathon sets I have ever thrown down, complete with a little bit of the Opening DJ's last song and rolling into my Intro song. It starts off as a sort of "At The Controls" series, starting with some mellow and trippy music, the kind of stuff that makes you see things without actually being on anything. It picks up and goes into a more progressive set and then going back and forth between styles that mimic John Digweed's flawless and technical transitions to M.A.N.D.Y. and Booka Shade's switchoffs. While the set itself is almost 8 hours long, and a massive 93 songs as well, it is something you can enjoy during your workdays. I recorded the whole thing running a line in to my Macbook Pro and using Ableton Live as the medium. The file size for the whole thing is about 1.06 GB, so if you want something to throw at a party, play on the radio, listen to something while walking into, through, and leaving work, this is right up your alley. You can also Skip around the various tracks and hear out just the sheer madness of how work is like for me.

Thanks Divinorum. I dont really keep track of the songs, I just move up or down harmonically and in the genre or similarities. I know most of the songs by ear after listening to them from beginning to end, so that comes handy when listening to the sets after I have finished playing & Recording them. Since the set is saved as a massive master file, I have to go in with Razor, and cut manually the crossfade points. If you notice, the song is going into it just about the point I lay the cut. Then it gets transferred in its .wav format to iTunes, where I convert it into an .mp3 file. I add the tags, track numbers, etc. and then delete the .wav files to free up space (most DJ sets take anywhere between 3-8 gigs of space from the .wav file alone.)

As a special Update, I wanted to let you guys know that I will be doing 2 DJ sets this week. One will be a mini Drum & Bass set, with some breaks here and there, as well as Deep Therapy Sessions #2. Which will be more Techy and Minimal than the previous one.

This one is a bit long overdue, it was recorded live at Karu & Y with a great crowd and a packed dancefloor that wouldn't stop. The set basically can be described as a story. A story of a man celebrating his departure into space (with an introduction of another therapy session, but clearly, this has no tie with the story...) which then becomes a somewhat regretful decision to do so. Then it goes into an odyssey of floating around in a place where sound cannot reach you, and passing by foreign worlds that you have never seen before and back again. At around track 44, it feels as if you have returned home, and then the celebration once again begins. The around track 59, you suddenly realize you were dreaming, you are still lost in the infinite deep space... 555 is a reminder to stay calm, and then baja hits, when you are one with space and everything in the infinite. The set moves brilliantly and well for one of my live sets. Definitely worth grabbing if you like Gui Boratto, Umek, Guy J, Patch Park, and Tiger Stripes. It is almost 5 hours, so its a typical night at work

This is the third Deep Therapy Sessions created by yours truly. It has a few guest appearances in the beginning and the end. The DJ set was recorded live at a warehouse party that a few friends of mine threw to mark the beginning of the fall DJ season (busy travel season). My DJ set was right after ShyFx, which if you know who he is, orients himself with drum & bass. Since I don’t do much Drum& bass to be able to play it on the fly, I started screwing around with some of his collection before going into my set. The night before, we had this running gag that made some people laugh and the song Hustlin’ by Rick Ross. So in order to honor the many people who were either laughing or raging because rap was played at an Electronica event, I decided to bring it back as a flashback and mash it up with some D&B. It may not fall in place at first, but listen and watch it align on its own with ease. After that I decided to go Into my Progressive House, Tech House set. It was not perfect ( You can tell when the Paolo Mojo and Cosmic Gate come around) but the people still loved it. Since the theme was “Flashbacks of your first Rave,” and shy played some old ass D&B along with new shit, I decided to play that “song” from the Matrix Reloaded when they have the huge party in the cave. Yes, that song is Fluke – Zion. Halfway through, I decided to toss in a trance set before the next gig went on, SO I played some old, really old, and whatever trance in the set. You’ll notice there is some Final fantasy music, some Ayumi Hamasaki, Lange, Orinoko, and some Pirates in there… whatever, everyone was oh shitting when the songs hit, call it fanservice if you like. After the trance was done, I decided to drop it back for next up. Then we get a nice close with Hello Piano, and Bye Piano, with Bye Friend, and so on. Even then I kept recording because I was still messing around with the next act. Anyways enjoy and feel free to comment.
