Inspired by Snake's Tetris thread a while back, I figured we should have a thread that discusses All Puzzle games. The ones I've played are

Tetris-Best puzzle game by far, still want to get 9999999 points....

Dr. Mario- Another great one, It's fun in it's own sense

Puyo Puyo/Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine/Kirby's Avalanche-Seems easy, but you realize it isn't when the people online pile you with 10 chains

Panel de Pon/Tetris Attack/Puzzle Peague-I've actually just started on this one with the DS version of Puzzle League. It's definatly a hard start, but I'll get used to it. Also I want to find out how to play on Lip's Stage (From Panel de Pon DS but locked out when NOA translated the game) :(

Also, I've been meaning to play Metoes, but never got to it.

So what Puzzle games do you like to play?

Also my friend codes for all of them:
Tetris DS: 177-722-377-644
Dr. Mario RX: 8249-6496-7984
Puyo Puyo! 15th Aniversery Edition:2320-8495-5385
Planet Puzzle League:163-368-946-713
if there were two guys on the moon and one of them killed the other with a rock that'd be pretty fucked up wouldn't it?

I always preferred point and click puzzles, or puzzles that are story based.

Grim Fandango
Phoenix Wright series
Zack and Wiki

They're point and click adventure/puzzle games silly. None of them involve fast paced action sequences, all the gameplay is problem solving

Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure is an innovative, full-length puzzle adventure game that utilises the unique control mechanics of the Wii Remote and challenges gamers to "play differently." Players will explore a variety of wondrous environments and stages, solving puzzles and interacting with the world in search of a legendary pirate ship and the ultimate pursuit of becoming the greatest pirate the world has ever seen.

I have always sucked at Puzzle League, Tetris Attack, Pogo's Dream and others I don't remember their names.

The best I have managed in Tetris is 200-something, I am somewhow lucky everytime I play multiplayer in Puzzle Fighter Turbo.

I should get Tetris DS but its super rare to find now.

Bust-A-Move has always been a favorite, is there a version for DS? If so, is it Wi-Fi available?

EDIT: Uhhh Polty, I am not against you but I am not sure if they are on category. I think its more like Puzzle/Adventure or Quest.

Or...

EDIT2: Holy shit I can't believe how stupid are the people in YouTube, this is a great looking game and they are spitting it for outdated and "boring". Is not even out yet rant rant rant rant

Flounderpa

puzzle games aren't my stuff, I like more the dungerons or those ones of locked doors that the only way to open it is solving some kind of riddle

The Secret of Monkey Island is an adventure game developed by Lucasfilm Games. The game spawned a number of sequels, collectively known as the Monkey Island series.

Grim Fandango is a graphic adventure computer game released by LucasArts in 1998 and primarily written by Tim Schafer. It is the first adventure game by LucasArts to use three-dimensional graphics overlayed on pre-rendered 2D computer backgrounds.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, released in Japan as Gyakuten Saiban Yomigaeru Gyakuten (逆転裁判 蘇る逆転, Gyakuten Saiban Yomigaeru Gyakuten? lit. "Turnabout Trial: Revived Turnabout"), is a visual novel-type adventure video game published and developed by Capcom in Japan, North America, and Europe, and published by Nintendo in Australia.

So baisicly you suck at Panel de Pon is what you are saying, since they are really one in the same.

Well all games like that are practically supposed to have puzzle-elements, otherwise it'd just be ""Go and do this." "lol k" and he did that."

Also double post

I actually was going to say "Panel de Pon" but said "nah, they may know Tetris Attack instead"

Yep nothing wrong with losing at a game with rainbows, fairies and flowers. Yep.

FlossClock

The new Peggle that just came out is ballin.

which is why they are adventure games, not action games.

this thread is about puzzle games, i.e. dr. mario, tetris, puzzle kombat etc.

get your genres straight kid.

PowerGloveClock

I got peggle extreme in the orange box I just never installed it
Quote from: FLOUNDERINYOBUTT;1837615I think Kodiak is the only person on  this entire website who dislikes Slurpee. I still dont understand how  thats possible. He\'s so loveable and funny. Every guy wants to be his  friend and every girl wants to date him. Understandably Slurpee is not a  very happy person.

If it has a story it isn't a puzzle game.

Pin Clock

Quote from: CalamityCock;1407170If it has a story it isn't a puzzle game.

Unless that story is completely puzzling and mild at best. Most of the Puyo Puyo games have a story mode, but in reality all it is is playing Puyo against the AI.

Also I think SNES Panel de Pon/Tetris Attack has a story with the same basics as Puyo

So Puzzle games can have stories, only if that story involves playing the game and is minimal at best.

In other words, it isnt a puzzle game if it got other functions aside a schemed puzzle format.

Zack and Wiki is actually an adventure game, but got another way to progress through instead convincing people, slaying monsters or hitting your enemies to stop their evil plans.

Panel de Pon had a story with a villain and all but it involved in playing the same scheme.

IvysaurClock

The only reason I play Brain Age anymore is for the Dr Mario knockoff.
