New Xbox Experience - November 19th

I messed about with it a bit back in July when they were showing it off at Gamefest. At the time there wasn't any actual functionality, and they only had images in there as samples to show, you couldn't actually activate any of the features yet (even existing ones).  So it was basically just the sections and movement, and the movement actually made it seem like it could be a bit more time consuming to get to where you needed to go, because you'd have to travel through this whole list one by one (albeit kind of quickly), or click a bunch of things to subcategorize down to where it was more precise. It's not like the Playstation Store where it shows you everything in a grid and you can quickly skip chunks of content (since each row has 5 or 6 items) to get to where you need.

That being said, it felt a lot more fluid, and it was still in its early stages. But if it still acts like it did then, this will actually feel like a downgrade in navigability, I feel.

Also, some people mis-read an interview that said that 'you'll still have a blades-like system when you hit the xbox guide button' as being 'you can still keep the old blades interface'. They're totally wrong. Microsoft is not going to be supporting two interfaces at once. It's going to be forced on you if you connect to Xbox Live just like every video game and XBL update has been forced on you since the 360 came out. They're not going to waste time and resources refitting the old interface to support the new features (because it's already poor at handling those), and people are idiots to think they're going to.

There is NO option. you get the new dashboard. The Avatars are optional.

Well I'm personally quite thrilled about this new modification. The avatars look kinda fun and the party system looks too practical.

Ah, I wonder if they changed it in the update? I could have swore it said the full experience was delayed. My bad.
